New site connects PA farmers
MILLHEIM, Pa. - Sire Advertising recently launched the new Web site, pasafarming.org, for the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture (PASA). The goal of the project was to develop a site that would be a platform for the Pennsylvania farming community to share ideas and build relationships with consumers.
Launched at the end of the first quarter 2009, the new site generated more than 5,000 visits in less than three months. The site promotes PASA’s internal fundraising campaigns and membership to independent farmers. In addition, the site provides PASA members with the opportunity to post classified and employment ads to share with other farmers in Pennsylvania.
To allow PASA staff members to make site updates conveniently and cost-effectively, Sire developed a content management system (CMS), which enables the organization to keep the site’s content fresh and relevant to encourage repeat visitors. As part of the CMS, staff members can upload upcoming events on the site’s homepage and post event photos in the site’s photo gallery.
Sire also developed an interactive interface that allows users to post their own classified, event, or employment opportunities on the site, with a built-in approval system for PASA staff members to edit, approve, or decline such postings.
